The FOUNDRY-MASTER Smart from Hitachi Instruments is a reliable entry level laboratory spectrometer for the qualitative and
quantitative element analysis of metal samples with a very small footprint. The instrument is designed for stationary use as a
benchtop unit and offers analytical features usually only found on premium class instruments thanks to its patented optical
system and outstanding cost-price-ratio.
The FOUNDRY-MASTER Smart is based on optical emission spectroscopy (OES), the analysing method favoured by most
foundries as carbon can be analysed. Its new developed digital source (spark generator) ensures optimal excitation for different
metal alloys. The high-resolution Multi-CCD optics utilises a argon purged technology chamber in order to cover the complete
wavelength range from 165 nm to 420 nm plus optical coverage for important lines like (Cu, Na, Li) up to 671nm, offering
accurate detection of all relevant spectral line in Fe-, Al-,Cu and Ni matrix.
